PROFILE

Jacqui qualified initially as a Remedial Massage Therapist in 1999, and has since added further qualifications in Deep Tissue Massage and Sports Therapies (and the initial levels of Fitness Instructor), developing a passion of anatomy and bio-mechanics of the body.

Her treatment style incorporates techniques from additional courses in other body-work, such as Myofascial Release, Shiatsu, Lymphatic Drainage and Corrective Exercise Therapy.

She has worked full time in Mosman as a Remedial Massage Therapist for 23 years, gaining a wealth of experience in treating a wide range of presenting problems resulting from the working environment and from exercise/activity, as well problems resulting from emotional/personal issues. She will aim to identify the cause, treat the source of pain (as well as the symptoms), and discuss the way forward with the client. Ultimately the best solution for any presenting problem is to empower the client with the knowledge and understanding of their own body and it's issues, thus allowing the client to share the responsibility of resolving the problem.

She is an accredited member of the ATMS association and fully adheres to the Code of Conduct prescribed by the association for its members. Each year she practices continuing professional education and development with relevant courses and seminars.

Jacqui is an accredited providor with the major private health insurance funds.

HISTORY

Jacqui established Mosman Massage Therapy in April 1999. For 20 years this was an extremely successful business offering a unique clinic of multi therapists dedicated solely to Remedial Massage and related body work. The clinic offered treatments from several very experienced practitioners, each therapist being highly qualified and able to draw upon many years of experience and training, to offer a unique blend of technique and intuition.

Prior to a career in massage, Jacqui had a successful career in the financial data industry, initially starting with the London Stock Exchange, through to her last role with Reuters. These roles took her from London, to New York and eventualy to Sydney. She has lived in Sydney for 25 years making it, along with her partner, home.

After over 20 fabulous years owning, and working at, the large Mosman Massage Therapy clinic, Jacqui made the decision in November 2019 to let go of the responsibility of running a large business and focus totally on being a Remedial Massage practitioner. She is now able to offer her clients her total focus and energy.

The original Mosman Massage Therapy clinic, based in Gurrigal Street Mosman, had a team of therapists who worked together for 20 years. The benefit of this historical relationship is that we have an understanding of each others unique skill sets and can cross refer, and offer diary backup when needed.

Each of these therapists are now operating from different locations on the Lower North Shore.
